Edna Fingeret

Former Hastings resident, Edna R. Fingeret, 93, passed away Thursday, October 8, 2009 at Central City Care Center, Central City, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Sunday, October 11, 2009; 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home Chapel; Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, October 12, 2009; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 P.M. in Holy Family Cemetery, Heartwell, Nebraska. Visitation will be Saturday, October 10, 2009; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M., Sunday, October 11, 2009; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home, and 1 hour prior to service at St. Michael's Catholic Church. Memorials may be given to St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings or Central City Care Center, Central City.

Edna was born July 21, 1916 in Central City, Nebraska to Fredrick M. & Isabelle W. (Porterfield) Billesbach. She moved to Heartwell at an early age and graduated from Heartwell High School. On May 5, 1936, she married Samuel M. Fingeret, in 1939 he preceded her in death at Omaha. She then moved to Hastings and graduated from the Hastings Business College. She worked for Fink Shoe Company as a secretary and bookkeeper, and then went to work for Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home as a secretary and bookkeeper until she retired in 1983. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, St. Michael's Catholic Church Altar Society, past regent and state regent for Catholic Daughters, past President for Hastings B.P.W., and past President for Women's Division of the Hastings Chamber of Commerce.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband; sisters, Sister Rose Rita Billesbach and Faye Lockhart; and brothers, Victor Billesbach, Louis Billesbach, Matt Billesbach, John Billesbach, Raymond Billesbach, and Cletus Billesbach.
