Edna Hinrichs

Hastings resident, Edna E. Hinrichs, 97, passed away Sunday, May 24, 2015 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Wednesday, May 27, 2015; 10:30 A.M. at First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to First St. Paul's Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, May 26, 2015; 1:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Edna was born August 22, 1917 in Glenvil, Nebraska to Henry H. & Wilhelmina (Mischke) Hibbeler. She attended District 26 and Pauline High School. She was a graduate of Bonnel Beauty Academy in Hastings. Edna married Martin R. Hinrichs on June 22, 1941 in Glenvil, Nebraska; he preceded her in death on January 1, 1987. She worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot during World War II and the Korean War. Edna and Martin owned and operated Hinrichs' Service Station & Car Wash for 20 years. Edna was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, First St. Paul's Senior Fellowship, and Lincoln PTA. She lived in her own home until she was 90 and moved to The Homestead in 2008. The last year and half of her life was spent at Perkins Pavilion at Good Samaritan Village. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them.

Edna was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin R. Hinrichs; four sisters, Sophia Hofferber, Wilhelmine Bauer, Margaret Bauder, and Martha Goble; and one brother, Herman Hibbeler.
