Edward Adler

Hastings resident, Edward "Ed" E. Adler, 72, passed away Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Mass of Christian Burial will be Tuesday, July 7, 2015; 10:30 A.M. at Saint Michael's, Hastings with Fr. Stephen Graeve officiating. Burial with military rites by the Nebraska Army National Guard will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to the family. Visitation with family present will be Monday, July 6, 2015; 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M.

Edward was born on October 11, 1942, in Hastings, NE to Henry and Edna (Adler) Adler. Ed graduated from Hastings Senior High School in 1960 and later served his country in the Army National Guard from 1964-1970. Edward was a decorated soldier while serving Company C, 2-134 Infantry earning the Nebraska National Guard Commendation Medal for providing medical assistance to a fellow soldier after a convoy accident. On August 10, 1968, Edward married Theresa Brahler at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church in Hastings, NE. Ed was a Plumber and maintenance mechanic over the years for Stewarts Plumbing, Apex Plumbing, and retired from the Flowserve Corporation in December 2013. Edward had an incredible gift to be able to fix and build almost anything. Ed's hobbies included fishing, hunting, supporting his kids and grandkids, and being outdoors as much as possible. Edward was so proud of his grandkids and cherished them deeply.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents; older brother, Roger L. Adler; and sister-in-law, Caroline Duntz.
