Former Juniata resident, Edward James Lisius, 86, passed away Tuesday, May 11, 2010 in Carrollton, Texas.
Services will be Saturday, May 22, 2010; 1:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. There will be a private burial. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the family.
Edward was born December 26, 1923 in Juniata, Nebraska to Rudolph Heinrick Lisius & Eva Barbara Koestler Lisius. Edward served in the U.S. Army prior to graduating from Hastings College and Tulsa University with degrees in Mechanical and Petroleum Engineering. He was an engineer with General Dynamics and worked on the F-111 Bomber. He later resided in Tulsa, Oklahoma for 33 years where he worked in oil and gas exploration. He was an active member of the local United Methodist Church participating in the choir and community outreach. Ed was an avid gardener, inventor and cook. He loved to fish, snow ski and spend time back home on the farm helping with the harvest. Ed was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, brother and Christian.
Edward was preceded in death by his parents; and sisters, Ruth Katzberg and Esther Tarnay.
