Eileen K. Valentin

Glenvil resident Eileen K. Valentin, 84, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024, at Mary Lanning Healthcare with her family by her side.

Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 6, at Faith Lutheran Church in Hastings with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Private family burial will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery, west of Glenvil. Eileen chose cremation and there will be no visitation. Book signing will be Sunday, May 5, from 1-5 with family present, 3-5 at the funeral home, and 1 hour prior at the church. Memorials may be given to Faith Lutheran Church or St. Paul’s Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery.

Eileen was born September 13, 1939, to Herman and Helen (Meyer) Classen. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1957. Eileen Classen married Ivan D. Valentin on February 4, 1959 – he preceded her in death on April 13, 2019, after 60 years of marriage. She worked on the family farm, with her husband and was a proud mother of three children.

Eileen enjoyed camping, playing cards, and eating out with friends. Most of all, she enjoyed her grandkids and great-grandkids who were all so very special to her.

Eileen was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Helen Classen, husband, Ivan Valentin, and brother Wayne Classen.
