Hastings resident, Elaine J. (Judy) Kimminau, 87, passed away on Sunday, March 2, 2025, at the Kensington in Hastings, NE.
Rosary will be at 6 p.m. Friday, March 7, at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, March 8, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Hastings with Father Craig Clinch officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. Visitation will be 1-6 p.m. with the family present 4-6 p.m. Friday, March 7, at the funeral home, and one hour before the service at the church. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Elaine J. (Judy) Kimminau was born on June 14, 1937, in Nelson, NE to George and JoHannah (Horst) Judy. She graduated from Nelson High School. She married Sylvester “Ted” Kimminau of Lawrence, NE on January 17, 1956. They made their home in Hastings, NE. Together they had nine children and were married until they were parted by death 56 years later.
Elaine was a wonderful Mom and Grandma who dearly loved children. She was passionate about Husker volleyball, was an avid card player, and enjoyed Bingo and going to the horse races in Grand Island. She loved her family more than anything and loved spending time with them. After her children were grown, she worked at Martin Luther Home for a brief period of time caring for adults with developmental disabilities in their homes.
Elaine was preceded in death by her parents, George and Hannah; husband, Sylvester “Ted” Kimminau; one child, Rosanna Kimminau; siblings, Earl Schoof, Esther Capps, Vernie Schoof, Darlene Routzahn, Melvin Judy, Victor Judy, George Judy, Jr., and Dwayne Judy; and two sons-in-law, Philip Ray and Lenn Woods.
