Hastings resident, Eleanor Doris Nass, 102, of Perkins Pavilion, died Wednesday, February 20, 2008 at Perkins Pavilion.
Services will be Monday, February 25, 2008; 10:30 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Carl H. Rehwaldt officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, February 24, 2008; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present from 1:00 P.M. - 3:00 P.M. and Monday, February 25, 2008; 9:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Trinity Lutheran Church, Blue Hill, Nebraska.
Mrs. Nass was born March 28, 1905 in Nuckolls County, Nebraska to George S. & Myrtie (Woodward) Bailey. She graduated from Guide Rock High School, Guide Rock, Nebraska in 1924 and attended Nebraska Wesleyan College in Lincoln, Nebraska for 3 years. She taught in rural county schools and married Clarence R. Nass on June 2, 1935 in Buhl, Idaho. He preceded her in death on July 30, 1994. She was a homemaker and began teaching again in the 1950's. She taught in Guide Rock and also in Chester, Nebraska. She moved to Sunnyside Nursing Home in 2000, the Villa in March of 2003 and to Perkins Pavilion on February 8, 2008. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Blue Hill, Nebraska.
Mrs. Nass was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence, two granddaughters, Kimberly & Terri Fritson, six brothers and four sisters.
