Hastings resident, Elizabeth L. "Betty" Loftus, 93, passed away Monday, December 4, 2017, at her home.
Rosary will be Sunday, December 10, 2017; 5:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, December 11, 2017; 10:30 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Caleb La Rue officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to St. Cecilia's Catholic Church. Book signing will be Sunday, December 10, 2017; 3:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. with family present at the funeral home.
Betty was born June 4, 1924, in Fullerton, Nebraska to Stanley & Mary (Torson) Egnoske. She married Elmer R. "Judd" Loftus on May 19, 1947; he preceded her in death on June 12, 1992. They moved from Broken Bow, Nebraska to Hastings in 1957.
Betty was a working mom and her last employment was at Good Samaritan Village. Betty volunteered as a foster grandparent for 19 years at Head Start and the Children's Ark at Good Samaritan Village; and was survived by many children who called her Grandma Betty. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Church for 60 years and Altar Society.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Judd Loftus; daughter, Gloria Hiatt; five brothers; three sisters; one half-brother; and one half-sister.
