Hastings resident Ella “Virginia” Wolz, 87, passed away Friday, October 18, 2024, at her home.
Memorial Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, October 21, at Butler Volland Chapel in Hastings with Pastor Dale Phillips officiating. The burial will be at Parkview Cemetery in Hastings. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date.
Virginia was born August 20, 1937, in Shreveport, LA to Tilford and Ophelia (Baxley) Swedlund. She graduated from Hastings High School in 1956. Virginia married Virgil Wolz on August 21, 1960; he preceded her in death on March 13, 1987.
Virginia owned and operated the Olive Saloon in Hastings for 46 years. She enjoyed taking trips to Salt Lake City for genealogy and loved going to garage sales. Virginia was a devoted grandmother and great-grandmother.
Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Virgil Wolz; son, Bryan Wolz; two brothers, Tom Swedlund and Orvil Swedlund; great-grandson, Brogan Chapman; and grandson-in-law, Luke Chapman.
