Hastings resident, Ellamae Hadley, 84, passed peacefully Friday, December 26, 2014 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Wednesday, December 31, 2014; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Richard Brook officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior, Nebraska. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 31, 2014; 9:00 A.M. until the service at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Railroad Town of Stuhr Museum, Grand Island, Nebraska.
Ellamae Vader Hopper Hadley was born December 25, 1930 in Jewell County, Kansas. The only child of Ruth Vader Bendeline. She attended a country school in Kansas, North Ward School in Superior, Nebraska and graduated from Hastings High School in 1949. She married Richard Hopper on May 2, 1953 in Kingston, Tennessee. They raised three children together. Ellamae lived in the Dayton, Ohio area for a number of years before moving back to Hastings 37 years ago. She married James Hadley in 1977 in Hastings, Nebraska.
Ellamae was preceded in death by her husband, James Hadley and a great-grandson.
