Ellen Classen

Ellen L. Classen, 80, Haven Home of Kenesaw died Saturday, October 28, 2006 at Haven Home of Kenesaw.

Services will be Tuesday, October 31, 2006; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Joel Remmers officiating. Private family burial will be in St. Paul's Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery west of Glenvil. Visitation with family present will be Monday, October 30, 2006; 6PM until 9PM at Butler-Volland Funeral Home. Memorials to St. Paul's Lutheran Churchyard Cemetery Fund.

Mrs. Classen was born July 25, 1926 in Ayr, Nebraska to Harm & Anna (Gartner) Johnson. She graduated from Roseland High School. She married Clarence Classen on August 29, 1945 at St. Paul's Lutheran Church west of Glenvil. He preceded her in death on August 7, 1975. Clarence and Ellen farmed near the Glenvil area from 1945 until Clarence death. Ellen then moved to Hastings where she was employed by the Hastings Tribune for ten years. She was a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Hastings.

Ellen L. Classen was preceded in death by her parents, husband Clarence Classen, 4 brothers and 3 sisters.
