Elmer P. Baker, 76, of 131 West 9th , Holdrege, Nebraska died Sunday, December 24, 2000 at Bryan LGH Medical Center East, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Services will be Friday, December 29, 2000; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel, Hastings, Nebraska with Rev. Melva Tranmer officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Elmer P. Baker was born November 9, 1924 in Hastings, Nebraska to Peter E. & Natalia D. (Engel) Baker. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1942. He served in the United States Army Rangers from June 1943 to December 1945. On November 24, 1946 he married Beverly D. Pederson. He was the purchasing agent for Central Nebraska Public Power and Irrigation District from March 1947 to November 1992. He moved from Hastings, Nebraska to Holdrege, Nebraska in 1963. He was a member of the United Methodist Church and Holdrege Country Club, both in Holdrege, Nebraska. He was a member of Mid-West Lodge #317 A.F & A.M., Hastings Scottish Rite Bodies and Tehama Shrine Temple, all of Hastings, Nebraska. He was also a member of the American Legion, V.F.W., Elks and a former member of D.A.V.

Elmer P. Baker was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters, Helen Taylor, Ruth Bierman and Irene Lissman, 3 brothers, Kenneth Baker, Raymond Baker and Reuben Baker and 1 grandson, Michael Baker.

Memorial maybe given to Shriners Crippled Children Transportation Fund

Thur. 9am-9pm family present 6pm-8pm
Fri. 9am until service time
