Elna Ernst

Hastings resident, Elna J. Ernst, 80, of 918 N. Briggs, Hastings, Nebraska, died Monday, December 27, 2004 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Thursday, December 30, 2004; 2:00 P.M. at the First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. William Deahl Jr. and Rev. Earl Higgins officiating. Burial will be in the Kenesaw Cemetery, Kenesaw, Nebraska.

Mrs. Ernst was born June 25, 1924 in rural Kearney County, Nebraska to Lauritz (Lars) Olsen & Mary (Nielsen) Olsen. She married Donald R. Ernst on September 29, 1948 in Norman, Nebraska. They moved from Glenvil, Nebraska in February of 1980 to Hastings, Nebraska. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, First United Methodist Women, First United Methodist Quilters. She volunteered for Red Cross and as a pink lady at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital. She was also active in various card clubs and a homemaker.

Mrs. Ernst was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one grandson, one son-in-law and two brothers.
