Former Hastings resident, Elsa L. Kroger, 88, of Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center, Albion, Nebraska, died Saturday, December 6, 2003 at Wolf Memorial Good Samaritan Center, Albion, Nebraska.
Services will be Wednesday, December 10, 2003; 10:30 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Dan Heuer and Rev. Robert Harms officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens, both in Hastings, Nebraska.
Elsa Louise Lydia Kroger, the daughter of Emil C. And Anna (Ziebell) Esslinger was born March 26, 1915 near Arapahoe, Nebraska. She was baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church north of Arapahoe. Elsa received her education in the Immanuel Lutheran School. On December 10, 1933, she married Henry F. Kroger and he preceded her in death in 1967. The couple farmed in the Arapahoe area until 1946 when they moved to a farm two miles north of Hastings, Nebraska. Elsa continued to live on the farm until 1980 at which time she moved to Goldbeck Towers, Good Samaritan Village, Hastings, Nebraska and resided there until 1998. Elsa was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Ladies Aid. She was a dedicated wife and mother who loved gardening, sewing and crafts.
Elsa L. Kroger was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Henry, two brothers, Herbert and Edwin Esslinger.
