Elsie Jones

Former Hastings resident, Elsie Violet Jones, 103, of Gladewater, Texas died Thursday, October 13, 2005 at Gladewater Nursing Home, Gladewater, Texas.

Services will be Monday, October 17, 2005; 1:00 P.M. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. William E. Deahl, Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Mrs. Jones was born August 9, 1902 in Loveland, Colorado to Torrey S. & Flora A. (Farrington) Woodard. In 1921, she married John 'Carl' Jones in Pauline, Nebraska and he preceded her in death on October, 26, 1986. She moved from the Pauline, Blue Hill, Nebraska area to Hastings, Nebraska in 1941. She was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Women's Society, both in Hastings, Nebraska. In 1995, she moved to Gladewater, Texas to be with her daughter, Gloria J. Hale.

Mrs. Jones was preceded in death by her parents, husband, John 'Carl', daughters, Lois Jones Ayer & Gloria J. Hale, son-in-law, Gordon E. Ayer, son, LaVern C. Jones, four brothers, three sisters and a granddaughter, Patricia Jones McIntyre.
