Elsie Sell

May 9, 1913 — February 17, 2005

Hastings resident, Elsie G. Sell, 91, of 519 So. Boston, died, Friday, February 11, 2005 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will Thursday, February 17, 2005; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Rev. Harold D. Stromer officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Mrs. Sell was born May 9, 1913 in Nuckolls County, near Nelson, Nebraska to Vaclav & Vinne (Ondra) Zikmund. She graduated from Fairfield High School, Fairfield, Nebraska in 1932. She moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1938 and on June 14, 1940, she married Lawrence Sell in Hastings, Nebraska. He preceded her in death on March 24, 1986. She worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot during WWII. Later, she was a sales representative for Avon walking all around Hastings to sell and deliver the product. Her hobbies were canning and crocheting. She was a member of Eagles Aerie 592 Auxiliary.

Mrs. Sell was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Lawrence Sell; four sisters, Frances Svoboda, Henrietta Soukop, Mary Drapal and Dorothy Dunbar and one brother, Joe Zikmund.
