Emma E. Arends, 85, of Perkins Pavilion, died Tuesday, February 27, 2001 at Perkins Pavilion.
Services will be Saturday, March 3, 2001; 10:30 A.M. at Zion Lutheran Church with Rev. Richard Kothe officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery.
Emma E. Arends was born December 5, 1915 in Webster County, near Blue Hill, Nebraska to William & Marie (Busking) Sundermeier. She was baptized on January 1, 1916 and confirmed on July 7, 1929 at Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Cowles, Nebraska. She married Rudolph William Knehans on January 7, 1937 and he preceded her in death on May 17, 1968. She and her husband farmed near Blue Hill, Nebraska and Mason City, Nebraska. She worked at the Navy Ammunition Depot during WWII and at the Cornhusker Ordinance Plant in Grand Island, Nebraska until it closed. They moved to Hastings, Nebraska in 1950 where she was employed at Queen City Laundry. She married William Arends on December 28, 1987 and he preceded her in death in 1995. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church and the Lutheran Women's Missionary League.
Emma E. Arends was preceded in death by her parents, husbands; Rudolph Knehans & William Arends, 2 brothers and a sister.
