Emma Starkel, 93, of 309 Chicago Ave., died Wednesday, April 11, 2001 at Skyline Manor, Omaha, Nebraska.

Services will be Saturday, April 14, 2001; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Pastor Kathleen Kasper officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Emma Starkel was born January 20, 1908 in Saratov, Russia to Henry & Katherine (Haas) Mons. She moved to the United States as a baby and resided in Lincoln, Nebraska. She married Alexander H. Starkel on September 19, 1929 and he preceded her in death on November 8, 1980. They moved from Lincoln, Nebraska to Hastings, Nebraska in 1937. In June of 2000, she moved to Skyline Manor, Omaha, Nebraska. She was a homemaker and a member of First St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska.

Emma Starkel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Alexander 'Alex', son-in-law, Darrell Slater, 2 brothers, Alex Mons & Henry Mons and 2 infant sisters.
