Hastings resident, EmmaLee (Wittler) Vonderfecht, 90, passed away Monday, January 9, 2017 at her home.
Services will be Friday, January 13, 2017; 10:30 A.M. at Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene, Hastings with Pastor John Whitsett officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. Memorials may be given to Crossroads Rescue Mission or Lakeside Community Church of the Nazarene. Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2017; 5:00 P.M. - 7:00 P.M. with family present at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.
EmmaLee was born February 5, 1926 in Fairbury, Nebraska to Julius & Mary (Heidelk) Wittler. She married Irving Vonderfecht on November 28, 1958. EmmaLee taught school from 1943-1949 in Jefferson County, Nebraska; 1949-1951 in Morrowville, Kansas; 1951-1952 at School of Bethany in Oklahoma; 1952-1956 in Jefferson County, Nebraska; 1956-1958 in Minden; 1958-1962 at Morton School in Hastings; and from 1962 until the present she was a full-time mom. She obtained her degree from Southern Nazarene University in 1956.
EmmaLee was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Leland Wittler.
