Erma Luth

Hastings resident, Erma L. Eastman Ellis Luth, 65, of 820 So. Pine, died Thursday, January 22, 2004 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Monday, January 26, 2004; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Pastor Rodney Armon officiating. Burial will be in Cedarview Cemetery, Doniphan, Nebraska.

Ms. Luth was born March 15, 1938 in Doniphan, Nebraska to Elmer & Mabel (West) Eastman. She attended and graduated from Giltner Public High School. On August 12, 1954, she married George 'Junior' Ellis and they later divorced. She moved to Aurora, Nebraska in 1969 and began working for the City of Aurora in 1971 as a receptionist/cashier. She was the only woman in city government at the time and took advantage of every opportunity to learn. She was clerk-treasurer and handled all billing and bookkeeping by 1977. She retired in 2000. She married Harry D. Luth on December 11, 1982 and later divorced. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She enjoyed painting, reading, gardening, writing poetry and music.

Ms. Luth was preceded in death by her parents, her baby sister and two grandchildren.
