Ernest Bohlen

Cozad resident, Ernest Bohlen, 71, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital in Kearney, Nebraska.

Private services were held Monday, November 30, 2009 at Butler-Volland Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Blake Armstrong officiating. Burial was in Hanover Presbyterian Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska. There will be a celebration of life held in Cozad, Nebraska at the Living Hope Assembly of God Church at a later date. Memorials may be given to the family.

Ernest was born July 30, 1938 in Pauline, Nebraska to Joseph & Hanna (Evans) Bohlen. He married Lorene McDermott on December 24, 1961. He worked for Monroes in Cozad, New Holland in Lexington, Paulsons Construction in Cozad, and then at South Central in Cozad. He attended Living Home Assembly of God Church. He loved to bowl and always would lend a helping hand to anyone who needed it. He liked to travel with his family, was a hunter and sports fan.

Ernest was preceded in death by parents; sisters, Verna and Betty; brother, Glenn; son, David Ernest; and great-granddaughter, Caitlynne.
