Ernest E. 'Ernie' Hansen, 76, of The Homestead, Hastings, Nebraska, died Thursday, April 19, 2001 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Graveside committal services will be Tuesday, April 24, 2001; 10:00 A.M. at Fredricksburg Cemetery, rural Minden, Nebraska.

Ernest E. 'Ernie' Hansen was born August 16, 1924 in Norman, Nebraska to Morris & Katherine (Christensen) Hansen. He married Meta (Swanson) Welsh on July 12, 1958 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska. She preceded him in death on January 12, 1984. He worked at a gas station, Don's Liquor Store, as an insurance salesman and later as a Maintenance Engineer at the Hastings Regional Center.

Ernest E. 'Ernie' Hansen was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Meta, 4 brothers, Carl, Walt, Clarence and Stanley Hansen, and a step son, Robert Welsh.
