Services will be Wednesday, November 1, 2006; 10:30 am at First Congregational United Church of Christ with Pastor Barry Rempp officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, both in Hastings, NE. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 31, 2006; 7pm-9pm with the family present at Butler-Volland Funeral Home. Memorials can be given to First Congregational Church or Good Samaritan Village.
Mrs. Johnson was born October 2, 1911 in Lincoln, NE to Henry and Della (Cameron) Kauffman. She moved to Hastings, NE in 1927 and graduated from Hastings High School in 1929. She attended Grand Island Business College for one year in 1930 and Nebraska College of Commerce in 1931. She married E. H. "Bud" Johnson on August 1, 1931 at Hastings. She was a homemaker and a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ. She was very active in Church Women Circles. Her other memberships include, Church Women United, Pythian Sisters, Life member of American Legion Auxiliary, Eastern Star Acacia Chapter #39 and Daughters of American Revolution. Mrs. Johnson was featured in the Silver Spoon in the Tribune. She loved roses, appreciated people, laughter and having fun was a part of her life.
Esteleen A. Johnson was preceded in death by her parents, husband Edmond Henry "Bud" Johnson in 1967 and son Edmond W. Johnson in 1987.
