Esther Meyer

Hastings resident, Esther Meyer, 100, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016.

Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Trinity Lutheran Cemetery, Blue Hill. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. There will be no viewing. Book signing will be Thursday, May 19, 2016; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.

Esther was born August 18, 1915 in Bayard, Nebraska near Chimney Rock to Henry & Elizabeth (Mueller) Juggert. She married Arthur H. Meyer on June 27, 1938 in Smith Center, Kansas; he preceded her in death on December 15, 1989. Esther was employed as a psychiatric aide for Hastings Regional Center until her retirement. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, and crocheting. She loved her kids as they were the best part of her life.

Esther was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Arthur Meyer; infant daughter; five brothers, Fred, Ray, Clarence, Carl & Rueben; and three sisters, Martha Osterbuhr, Edna Thavenett & Pauline Hull.
