Eugene Lockwood

Hastings resident, Eugene "Gene" J. Lockwood, 74, passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 at his home.

A memorial service will be Thursday, June 16, 2011; 10:30 A.M. at Berean Bible Church, Hastings. Private family burial with military rites will be held at Westlawn Cemetery, Grand Island, Nebraska. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to the Gideons.

Gene was born October 30, 1936 in Holdrege, Nebraska to Herbert H. & Goldie (Lundvall) Lockwood. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High School and then served with the U.S. Air Force. Gene attended and graduated from Tennessee Temple University. He married Mary E. Batie on October 1, 1960; she preceded him in death on April 10, 2004. Gene worked as a custodian for Allen's of Hastings for many years.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Mary E. Lockwood; and one sister.
