Eugene Wenske

Rural Clay Center resident, Eugene "Gene" Raymond Wenske, 68, passed away Saturday, June 22, 2013 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Wednesday, June 26, 2013; 2:00 P.M. at Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Jeff Glawe officiating. Burial will be in Glenvil Cemetery, Glenvil, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 25, 2013; 9:00 A.M. - 8:00 P.M. with the family receiving relatives and friends from 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and on Wednesday 9:00 A.M. until service time.

Gene was born July 25, 1944, at Hastings, Nebraska to Raymond & Esther (Lee) Wenske. He attended school at Inland and Harvard and on February 2, 1965 he married Dianna Hinrichs in Glenvil, Nebraska. Gene worked for R Lazy K feed lot for 25 years before retiring. He then worked for several area farmers as a hired hand. Gene was very involved with the Old Trusty Show in Clay Center for many years.
