Evan Wheeler

Hastings College student, Evan Christian Wheeler, 22, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2010 in Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial services will be Wednesday, December 15, 2010; 2:00 P.M. at French Memorial Chapel, Hastings College Campus with The Rev. Dr. David B. McCarthy officiating. Private family burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. There will be no visitation. Book signing will be Wednesday, December 15, 2010; 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the family; a memorial will be established at a later date. Condolences may be sent to www.lbvfh.com. Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home & Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements.

Evan was born April 2, 1988 in Hastings, Nebraska to Stuart L. & Anne R. (Franzen) Wheeler. Two years later his family moved to Littleton, Colorado where he spent his formative years. He was educated in the Jefferson County Public Schools and graduated from Chatfield High School in 2006. He attended Red Rocks Community College for one year then enrolled in Hastings College in Hastings, Nebraska where he spent the last four years. While living in Littleton, Evan developed a passion for inline hockey competition playing from the middle of elementary school through high school and on various adult teams. Evan was a member of St. Philip's Lutheran Church in Littleton; was also the past president of Psi Theta Epsilon Fraternity at Hastings College, was one of the Homecoming Royalty attendants at Hastings College in 2009, and other activities at the college.

Evan was preceded in death by his Grandparents, Isaac and Gladys Wheeler and Rev. Howard Franzen; Uncles, Robert Wheeler, William Wheeler, Kenneth Wheeler and John Franzen.
