Evelyn Avers

Hastings resident, Evelyn M. Avers, 82, of 1495 S. Wabash, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2010 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial services will be Tuesday, February 23, 2010; 10:00 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church, Hastings with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Burial will be Tuesday, February 23, 2010; 3:00 P.M. in Ft. McPherson National Cemetery, Maxwell, Nebraska. There will be no visitation. Memorials may be given to Grace United Methodist Church.

Evelyn was born October 23, 1927 in Red Cloud, Nebraska to William & Ella (Streit) Osborn. She graduated from Red Cloud High School at Red Cloud, Nebraska. She married Kenneth Avers on May 17, 1947. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Eagles, V.F.W. Auxiliary, Platte Valley Campers Group, and was a Grand President of MOCA.

Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth E. Avers; and one great-grandchild.
