Evelyn Greuter

Juniata resident, Evelyn M. Greuter, 97, of 210 West 7th, Juniata, Nebraska, passed away Thursday, March 8, 2007 at Perkins Pavilion, Hastings, Nebraska.

Memorial services will be Monday, March 12, 2007; 2:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel with Pastor Lee Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska. Memorials to The Greuter Memorial. No viewing or visitation.

Mrs. Greuter was born May 28, 1909 in Holstein, Nebraska to Frank & Anna (Hansen) Kitts. She graduated from Hastings High School and received her Bachelors of Art degree in music from Hastings College. On July 20, 1929, she married Ivan N. Greuter and he preceded her in death on January 15, 1996. She was a professional pianist/organist who was well known for her swing band and combo over the years. She played over the states of Nebraska, Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri and retired in 1970. She belonged to the Baptist church in McAlister, Oklahoma. In 1980, they moved to Hastings and then to Juniata, Nebraska. She attended Juniata United Methodist Church.

Mrs. Greuter was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ivan; son, Jack; sister & brother in law, Marguerite & Butch Gray, grandson, Kirk Greuter, and Ivan's dad, Ralph Greuter.
