Hastings resident, Evelyn L. Huber, 96, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2011 at Mary Lanning Memorial HealthCare, Hastings, Nebraska.
Rosary will be Thursday, February 24, 2011; 6:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, February 25, 2011; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, February 24, 2011; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Evelyn was born January 3, 1915 in Hazleton, Pennsylvania to Andrew J. & Marth Ann (Golder) Kotch. She graduated from Hazleton High School in Hazleton, Pennsylvania. On May 26, 1941 she married Frederick H. Huber in Hazleton; he preceded her in death on March 23, 1993. Frederick and Evelyn lived near Crawford, Nebraska and Fort Robinson, Nebraska before moving to Hastings. She was a homemaker and worked in the ordinance office at the Naval Ammunition Depot after World War II. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters of America, St. Michael's Altar Society, Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital Auxiliary, and Legion of Mary. Evelyn played the organ for 25 years at St. Michael's Catholic Church.
Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frederick H. Huber; son, David Huber; two brothers; and two sisters.
