Evelyn Motley

December 2, 1916 — September 2, 1939

Glenvil resident, Evelyn Helen Motley, 88, of 203 Bruce, died Friday, December 3, 2004 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Monday, December 6, 2004; 11:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Funeral Home with Rev. Neil Vik officiating. Burial will be in Blue Valley Cemetery, Ayr, Nebraska.

Mrs. Motley was born December 2, 1916 in Adams County, south of Hansen, Nebraska to Elmer S. & Anna H. (Fricke) Rosenau. She graduated from Hastings High School and married Kenneth George Motley in Lincoln, Nebraska on September 2, 1939. They went to the State Fair for their honeymoon and had hamburgers for their dinner. On every wedding anniversary since, their dinner was hamburgers. They worked for the State of Nebraska Games & Parks as caretakers at Crystal Lake for 21 years. She also had a concession stand at Crystal Lake. She drove the Adams County Bookmobile and made pies for the Auto Auction in Hastings. She was a life long Adams and Clay county resident and was a charter member of the Spring Ranch Homemakers Extension Club.

Mrs. Motley was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Lonnie Motley, two brothers and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are to be directed to Glenvil Rescue Unit
