Evelyn Taute

Hastings resident, Evelyn Ruth Taute, 75, of The Kensington, died Friday, December 21, 2007 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Services will be Thursday, December 27, 2007; 10:30 A.M. at Peace Lutheran Church with Pastor Paul Dunbar officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Peace Lutheran Church. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 26, 2007; 1PM-9PM at the funeral home & Thursday, December 27, 2007; 1 hr. prior to service at the church.

Ms. Taute was born January 4, 1933 in Ayr, Nebraska to Walter R. & Emilie (Bott) Taute. She was confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church, Hastings, Nebraska in May of 1941.She graduated from Blue Hill High School in 1951 and moved from Ayr to Hastings in 1952. She attended Hastings College for two years. She worked as a nurse's aide at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Villa Grace, Bethphage Mission in Axtell, Nebraska for one summer and delivered flowers for three florists in Hastings. She also cared for elderly ladies in their homes. She attended Peace Lutheran Church.

Ms. Taute was preceded in death by her parents and a special friend, Crystal Loraine Horner.
