Everett Bishop

July 15, 1932 — September 11, 2010

Hastings resident, Everett "Goose" L. Bishop, 77, passed away Thursday, March 11, 2010 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, March 15, 2010; 10:30 A.M. at First United Methodist Church, Hastings with Rev. Allan Davis officiating. Burial will be Monday, March 15, 2010; 4:00 P.M. at Memorial Cemetery, Fremont, Nebraska. Visitation will be Sunday, March 14, 2010; 2:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. with family present 2:00 P.M. - 4:00 P.M. at the funeral home and 1 hour prior to service at the church. Memorials may be given to Hastings Alumni Special Olympics, First United Methodist Church or Mary Lanning Hospice.

Goose was born July 15, 1932 in Bartlett, NE to Oliver & Jessie (Bignell) Bishop. He graduated from Fremont High School and from Midland Lutheran College with a bachelor's degree in Education. On August 18, 1955 he married Jacquelyn Gottsch in Fremont, NE. He taught and coached in Sterling, NE and returned to Fremont and worked at CF Industries. They moved to Hastings and he worked for Chief Ethanol until he retired. He enjoyed coaching for the Special Olympics for several sports and was a member of First United Methodist Church. He will be deeply missed for his sense of humor and love of family and friends.

Goose was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Wayne, and sister, Ila June Bishop
