Everett Sloggett

Hastings resident, Everett Eugene 'Gene' Sloggett, 75, of 2501 Boyce Street, died Monday, November 21, 2005 at his home.

Memorial services will be Saturday, November 26, 2005; 10:30 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert & Pastor Jim Miller officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, all in Hastings, Nebraska. No visitation or viewing, Mr. Sloggett was cremated.

Mr. Sloggett was born April 26, 1930 in Broken Bow, Nebraska to Wesley & Dorothy H. (Van Dyke) Sloggett. He graduated from Broken Bow High School in 1949 and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War from November 6, 1950 - August 30, 1954. On April 6, 1961, he married Rachel G. Hoblyn in Englewood, Colorado. He worked in productions at Farmland Industries, retiring in June of 1991. He was a past member of Grace United Methodist Church and attended Juniata United Methodist Church. He was also a member of American Legion in Hastings.

Mr. Sloggett was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, James.

Memorial may be given to in lieu of flowers, memorials to Juniata United Methodist Church

Sat. 11-26-05; 1 hr. prior to service at the church
