Hastings resident, Everette E. Korgan, 79, passed away Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings, Nebraska.
Services will be Friday, December 14, 2012; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Tony Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to American Cancer Society. Visitation will be Thursday, December 13, 2012; 5:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. and Friday, December 14, 2012; 9:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Everette was born February 13, 1933 in Hastings, Nebraska to Joseph & Velma (Wyatt) Korgan. He graduated from Hastings High School. Everette married Mary Ann Von Kampen on April 27, 1952; they later divorced. He worked for 30 years at Dalton's Café, nine years with AAL now Thrivent Financial for Lutherans where he retired, he also worked at Uncle Neal's on East 2nd Street. Everette had been involved in Hastings Community Theatre. He enjoyed traveling and camping, going to Branson, Silver Dollar City, West Colorado Springs, and Estes Park, Colorado. Everette enjoyed camping at Morman Island near Grand Island.
Everette was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Lowell Korgan; and infant sister.
