F. Gotheridge

Hastings resident, F. Dale Gotheridge, 87, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Saturday, December 5, 2009; 10:00 A.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Roy Peister officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Friday, December 4, 2009; 1:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M.; and 1 hour prior to service at Livingston-Butler-Volland Funeral Home. Memorials may be given to the Dale Gotheridge Memorial Fund.

Dale was born June 30, 1922 in Harvard, Nebraska to Floyd M. & Lena (Northrup) Gotheridge. As a young child he moved to Hastings with his family. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1940. After graduation he moved to California and worked for 20th Century Fox Studios as an apprentice carpenter. He entered the Army on November 17, 1942, and served until November 9, 1945 during World War II in both Africa and Italy. On July 10 1943, he married Norma Kral. After his military service, they moved back to California where he continued working for 20th Century Fox Studios. They moved back to Hastings in the late 1940's. He was a long time employee of the Hastings Regional Center, retiring in 1985. He was active for many years in many levels of the Hastings F.O.E. Aerie #592, he was the local president and was on the ritual team. He was also a member of the V.F.W. and a past member of the American Legion. Dale and Norma had a long retirement traveling and he loved spending time with family. Dale had a wonderful sense of humor, and he was very proud of his marriage to Norma for 66 years and their three daughters.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
