Hastings resident, Fay N. Simmering, 88, died Thursday, May 13, 2004 in Hastings, Nebraska.
Rosary service will be Sunday, May 16, 2004; 7:00 P.M. at Butler-Volland Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday, May 17, 2004; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, both in Hastings, Nebraska, with Father Larry Gyhra officiating. Burial will be Monday, May 17, 2004; 2:30 P.M. at St. Joseph's Catholic Cemetery, Broken Bow, Nebraska.
Mrs. Simmering was born October 17, 1915 in Wilmot, South Dakota to Frank & Agnes Veronica (Mitchel) Marchek. She graduated from Lawrence High School. On October 28, 1942, she married Herschel Simmering at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska and he preceded her in death on March 16, 2001. She was a homemaker and taught piano lessons in her home for 40 years. She was a member of St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Altar Society and of South Center Czech Society.
Mrs. Simmering was preceded in death by her parents, husband Herschel, three brothers, Steven, Richard and George Marchek and one sister, Viola Brouillette
