Fern Rapp

Hastings resident, Fern E. Rapp, 95, passed away Friday, June 17, 2011 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Tuesday, June 21, 2011; 11:00 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Dale Phillips officiating. Burial will be at Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Monday, June 20, 2011; 4:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. and one hour prior to service at the funeral home. Memorials may given to Peace Chapel at Perkins Pavilion.

Fern was born December 7, 1915 in Wood Lake, MN to Arthur and Bertha (Rossiter) Long. She attended Wood Lake public schools, then attended graduate school. She married Oscar Jensen in June 1944. They moved to Long Beach, CA. during the summer of that year. Fern was the head teacher in the Long Beach Day Nursery for thirty years. Her husband Oscar Jensen passed away May 6, 1974. She retired March 31, 1976 and moved to Hastings. She did volunteer work at Good Samaritan Village for several years. She married Tennis Rapp August 26, 1988 and he preceded her in death on December 27, 1994.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents; 2 husbands, Oscar Jensen and Tennis Rapp; and sister; Olive Petitt.
