Florence M. (Epkes) Martin

Hastings resident Florence M. Martin, 88, passed away Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Mary Lanning Healthcare, Hastings. 

Memorial Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 15, at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church with Pastor Joel Remmers officiating. There will be no viewing or visitation. Memorials may be given to the family for a memorial to be established at a later date. The service will be live-streamed on Livingston Butler Volland Funeral Home’s website. Florence was born September 26, 1936, to Henry & Anna (Schmidt) Epkes in Hastings, Nebraska. She graduated from Hastings High in 1954. Florence married Harry A. “Al” Martin on December 27, 1959, at First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Hastings. 

Florence was the supervisor in the business office for Hastings Utilities until she retired. Florence was a member of First St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the Red Hot Red Hatters Club and the Adams County Geneology Society. 

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Kathleen Gartner; son, Wade Martin; and son-in-law, Roger A. Alloway.
