Florence Meinke

Former Hastings resident, Florence T. Meinke, 89, of Haven Manor Assisted Living, Lincoln, Nebraska, died Thursday, July 23, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Regional Medical Center, Lincoln, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Wednesday, July 29, 2009; 7:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings, Nebraska. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, July 30, 2009; 10:30 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Hastings, Nebraska with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Visitation will be Tuesday, July 28, 2009; 5 P.M. - 9 P.M., Wednesday, July 29, 2009; 1P.M. - 9 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to service time on Thursday at the church. Memorials are directed to the family.

Florence T. Meinke was born July 10, 1920 in St. Libory, Nebraska to Frank and Mary (Buhrman) Boehle. On July 10, 1946 Florence married Fred A. Meinke and he preceded in death on September 15, 1987. She was a longtime member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Altar Society and Catholic Daughters of the Americas. Florence was a pillar of strength and kindness to all who knew her. Never was there a person she met that wasn't her friend. Family, faith and friends were the life Florence led. Florence lived in Hastings sixty years before moving to Lincoln, to be close to her children.

Florence T. Meinke was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Fred A. Meinke and two brothers.
