Florence Osborn

Hastings resident, Florence S. Osborn, 98, died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Rosary will be Wednesday, June 5, 2013; 6:30 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 6, 2013; 10:00 A.M. at St. Cecilia's Catholic Church, Hastings with Father Joseph M. Walsh officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully request memorials be given to the family or charity of your choice. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 5, 2013; 9:00 A.M. - 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.

Florence Susanna, our beloved sister and aunt, was born in her Kramer grandparents' home on September 12, 1914 to Albert M. & Ella (Zubrod) Kramer in Roseland, Nebraska. Florence graduated from Roseland High School in 1933 and worked as a waitress at Dalton's Café. She married Myron Dale "Red" Osborn of Campbell, Nebraska on October 21, 1939. They moved to Arlington, Virginia in 1940. While living in Virginia, Florence worked as a waitress in a drug store, a restaurant and a Giant Food Store, and as a companion to the elderly when families were not available. She returned to Nebraska in 1988. Florence enjoyed cooking, dancing, reading, writing letters, and housework. She liked to clean windows. Thank you Dr. Schwietzer, nurses, CNA's, and staff at Perkins Pavilion, AseraCare Hospice nurses and CNA's, chaplains, social workers, and staff for their kindness, care, and concern given to Florence and her family.

Florence was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Myron Dale Osborn in 1979; infant brother and sister; sister, Iola Kramer; brothers & sisters-in-law, Leslie & Frances Kramer, Earl & Carmella Kramer, Vera (Osborn) Marvin; nephews & spouse, Kenneth LeRoy & Terry Marvin, Clyde Kramer, Lawrence Kramer; great-nephew, Jason Lawrence Kramer; great-great-niece, Gianna Marie Saunders.
