Florence Tomes

Hastings resident, Florence J. Tomes, 89, of Good Samaritan Village, died Friday, January 5, 2007 at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital.

Memorial Mass will be Thursday, January 11, 2007; 10:00 A.M. at St. Michael's Catholic Church with Father Michael Houlihan officiating. Private interment at Parkview Cemetery. Memorials to St. Michael's Good Angel Fund.

Mrs. Tomes was born December 4, 1917 in Adams County Nebraska to Joseph & Anna (Reiner) Grieman. She was the Office Supervisor at J.C. Penney. In 1952, she moved from the farm to Hastings, Nebraska. She married Bernard Tomes on April 28, 1973 and he preceded her in death on December 25, 1984. She was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church, Altar Society and Crosier Apostolate.

Mrs. Tomes was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Bernard; brother, William; an infant brother, Joseph Jr. an infant sister, Mary and a nephew, Bill Grieman
