Floy Jensen

Roseland resident, Floy E. Jensen, 81, passed away Thursday, November 28, 2013 at Perkins Pavilion Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village, Hastings, Nebraska.

Services will be Monday, December 2, 2013; 2:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church, Hastings with Rev. Dr. William Nottage-Tacey officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to First Presbyterian Church or Roseland Volunteer Fire Department. Visitation will be Saturday, November 30, 2013; 1:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. and Sunday, December 1, 2013; 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Mrs. Jensen was born in Nelson, Nebraska on September 26, 1932 to Con & Elma (Van Dyke) Whiteley. Floy graduated from Nelson High School with the Class of 1950. She worked at the ASCS Government Office in Nelson. She married Jack D. Jensen of Nora, Nebraska on September 21, 1952; he preceded her in death on June 5, 2001. Floy and Jack lived in Baltimore, Maryland while Jack was in the service and Floy worked in an insurance office. They moved to the Holstein/Roseland area in 1956. Jack was in the grain business and Floy worked at the Roseland State Bank. She loved reading, music, poetry, and entertaining family and friends. She was active in her church, evangelism, and her bible study group of many years. Her life was her faith, family, and friends.

Floy was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Jack D. Jensen.
