Floyd Murray

Floyd B. Murray, 92, of Perkins Pavilion, died Thursday, May 16, 2002 at Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Monday, May 20, 2002; 10:00 A.M. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Farris and Rev. Tom Murray officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska.

Floyd B. Murray was born May 19, 1909 in Adams County, Nebraska to Martin V. & Amanda Ann (North) Murray. He graduated from Hastings High School in 1925 and from Hastings College in 1929. He taught school at Madrid, Nebraska from 1929-1934 and Campbell, Nebraska from 1934-1948 where he was also the superintendent. He received his masters degree from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln. On September 28, 1940, he married Helen Sypherd in North Platte, Nebraska. He served during WWII in the United States Navy from 1942-1945. He later was a salesman for Encyclopedia Britannica Corporation. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Floyd B. Murray was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.
