Hastings, resident, Frances G. 'Fran' Minich, 94, of 1127 N. Baltimore, died Saturday, April 18, 2009 at Good Samaritan Hospital, Kearney, Nebraska.
Services will be Thursday, April 23, 2009; 10:30 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church with Rev. Dr. Lee R. Wigert officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. Memorials may be given to Grace United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 21, 2009; 1:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, April 22, 2009; 9:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m. with family present from 7:00 p.m.-9:00 p.m. at the funeral home and Thursday, April 24, 2009; 1 hour prior to service at the church.
Mrs. Minich was born June 4, 1914 in Hastings, Nebraska to John J. & Myrtle D. ( Turner) Richards. She attended Hastings Public Schools. She went on the pop route with Francis 'Bud' Minich and they decided to marry on July 27, 1935 in Central City, Nebraska. He preceded her in death in December of 1993. She worked for the public schools lunch program, volunteered at Mary Lanning Memorial Hospital and was the last living person to work at the Kool-Aid factory. She was a lifelong Hastings resident and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. She enjoyed fishing, going to garage sales, playing cards, gambling and going to the beauty shop. Friends and family, all called her 'Aunt Frannie'.
Mrs. Minich was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and four sisters.
