Frank Lukas

Hastings resident, Frank C. Lukas, 96, of 2330 W. 11th St., died Friday, January 9, 2009 at his home.

There will be no services or viewing.

Mr. Lukas was born November 25, 1912 on a farm east of Blue Hill, Nebraska to Joseph & Agnes (Ceceva) Lukas. He attended school in Blue Hill and helped farm on his family's farm east of Blue Hill. During the depression he traveled with his buddies and worked the sugar beet fields in Colorado and the hops fields in Washington. He then returned home to work at the family farm and married Ruby Sidlo on March 11, 1947 in Hastings. He retired in 1978 and moved to Hastings. Franked loved gardening, his roses, playing pool and Nebraska football.

Mr. Lukas was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Mary Kosmacek, Lewis Lukas, Bessie Samek, Victor Lukas, Stella Witrhlik, Theresa Umbreit and Helen Crist.
