Hastings resident, Gale F. Lorraine, 86, died Friday, October 25, 2013 at Haven Home, Kenesaw, Nebraska.
Services will be Thursday, November 7, 2013; 10:30 A.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings with Pastor Donald Becker officiating. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings, Nebraska. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hastings YMCA , Hastings Public Library, Start Over Rover or Adams County Burial Detail. Book signing will be Tuesday & Wednesday, November 5 and 6, 2013; 9:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
Gale was born April 19, 1927 to Frank C. & Bernice (Wickwire) Lorraine at North Platte, Nebraska. He graduated from North Platte High School in 1945. Gale enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served two years during World War II. He married Dorothy (Detlefs) Lorraine in 1949. Gale graduated from Kearney State Teacher's College in 1950. He taught and served as Principal at Clay Center, Nebraska for two years. In1952, Gale was hired and worked as an engineer for IBM at Omaha, Nebraska. After 15 years with IBM he became a salesman and was transferred to Hastings, Nebraska. Gale was employed by Hastings Regional Center for 12 years until his retirement.
Gale was preceded in death by his parents and wife Dorothy M. Lorraine.
