Gary Kral

Juniata resident, Gary D. Kral, 66, passed away Monday, February 17, 2014 at University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska.

Services will be Saturday, February 22, 2014; 10:00 A.M. at Christ Lutheran Church, Juniata with Pastor Greg Volzke officiating. Burial will be in Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska, with a lunch following at the Adams County Fairgrounds. Visitation will be Friday, February 21, 2014; 1:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. with family present 6:00 P.M. - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home, and one hour prior to service at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran Church or Juniata Cemetery Association.

Gary was born July 14, 1947 in Hastings, Nebraska to Dale & Mildred (Weeks) Kral. He grew up on the family farm north of Juniata, and attended grade school at Rising Star District 29. He was a graduate of Juniata High School and Kearney State College. He married Beverly Katzberg at Christ Lutheran Church in Juniata on May 26, 1973. He farmed in the Juniata area until the time of his death. He was an active member of the Juniata community, serving on the Juniata Cemetery Association board and the Juniata Rural Fire Department board. He previously served on the board of directors for Heartland Coop, as well as the Farm Service Agency board of directors. Gary was also a member of Christ Lutheran Church.

Gary was preceded in death by his parents, Dale & Mildred Kral; father-in-law, Victor Katzberg; and sisters-in-law, Janiece Looye & Gloria I. Katzberg.
