Gary O'Donnell

Former Trumbull resident, Gary O'Donnell, age 62, died July 29, 2014 at his residence in Aurora, Colorado.

Memorial Services will be Monday, August 4, 2014; 10:00 A.M. at Grace United Methodist Church, Hastings with Rev. Cindy Karges to officiate. Burial will be in Parkview Cemetery, Hastings. There will be no viewing or visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association in memory of Gary.

He was born in Hastings on December 7, 1951 to his late parents, Vernon and Phyllis O'Donnell. Gary graduated from Trumbull High School Class of 1970. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1971 where he served his country for two years. After his service in the Army, Gary worked briefly for Harmon Grain in Trumbull before beginning his career with Burlington Northern Railroad in March, 1973. Gary retired from Amtrak in January, 2012 where he was employed as a locomotive engineer. He had previously lived in Lincoln and in Albuquerque, New Mexico during his career with the railroad. Gary enjoyed fishing, golf, his friends, and the mountains of Colorado.
