George Witt, Jr

Juniata resident, George Witt, Jr., 88, died Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Good Samaritan Society-Hastings Village Perkins Pavilion.

Services will be Saturday, January 14, 2012; 2:00 P.M. at Butler Volland Chapel, Hastings, Nebraska with Pastor Tom Murray officiating. Burial will be at Juniata Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday, January 12, 2012; 5 P.M. - 9 P.M. and Friday, January 13, 2012; 9 A.M. - 9 P.M. at the funeral home. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Start Over Rover Animal Rescue.

George was born February 7, 1923 in Prosser, Nebraska to George Sr. & Mattie (Curry) Witt. He graduated from Juniata High School, Juniata, Nebraska and attended Hastings Business College. He was a welder and worked for A.H. Jones, Kansas Nebraska Natural Gas now KN Energy before retiring. George married Lois F. Bates on March 6, 1942 in Las Vegas, Nevada and she preceded him in death on September 7, 2001. He served in the Army Air Corps from February 4, 1943 until October 2, 1945. George attended Juniata Community Church and was a member of Hastings Skylark Model Airplane Club and American Legion in Juniata.

George Witt Jr. was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Lois F. Witt, 3 Sisters and 4 Brothers.
